Every balance board you can buy for your home puts its pivot on the floor. The surface slides out from under you and your body catches up late. PIVOT holds the axis fixed at the top surface. The board rotates. Your center stays where it is.

The problem

Forty years of the same flawed physics.

A board with its pivot on the ground has to move sideways before it can tilt. That sideways travel is a dead zone. Your nervous system gets nothing useful until the board has already gone somewhere it should not be, and then it gets everything at once.

The correction comes from the hip and the trunk because the ankle was never given anything to work with. You end up rehearsing the compensation instead of the skill.

Foam pads have the opposite problem. They absorb the force before it reaches you.

The mechanism

We moved the axis.

The axis of rotation sits at the foot bed and stays there. The platform tilts through a mechanical joint with no slop, so the surface answers the moment you load it. Your ankle rotates around a fixed axis. Now the board does too.

  • Fixed-axis joint

    The axis of rotation is held at the top surface. It does not travel, so the platform cannot slide out from under you.

  • Indexed tilt stops

    Range is bounded mechanically. The board reaches its limit and holds rather than dumping you off the edge.

  • Pneumatic chamber

    Air pressure sets how much the platform gives, from firm and controlled to soft and reactive.

  • Integrated compressor

    Pressure is changed from the app or from the control on the unit. Nothing to swap, nothing to pump by hand.

  • Embedded sensor

    Acceleration and angular velocity, sampled 800 times per second and sent to your phone over Bluetooth.

Adjustable difficulty

Ten levels. One button.

An integrated air compressor sets platform firmness from the app or from the control on the unit. Choose a level and the pressure adjusts in seconds. Someone starting seated and a college midfielder use the same board at different settings.

Rigid Foundation

High pressure holds the platform firm and keeps the range of motion small. This is where you build base stability, and where most people start. You can work these levels seated.

Compliant Resistance

Medium pressure lets the platform move under load and answer back. The range opens up and the corrections get faster. This is the working range for most training once the basics are steady.

Levels 8 to 10

Unlocked Acuity

Low pressure makes the surface fluid and highly reactive. Built for trained athletes working on rate of force development and fast single-leg control.

The direction surprises most people. Firmer is steadier. Softer is harder. Level one is the easiest setting on the board, and level ten is the one that will put you on the floor.

The data

The board keeps score.

An embedded sensor samples acceleration and angular velocity 800 times per second and sends it to the app over Bluetooth. Sessions are stored, so a single stability score from one to ten becomes a line you can watch move.

Origin

It started with a broken ankle and the wrong tool.

David Shoffler Sr. broke his ankle. Michael Suk repaired it. Recovery stalled, and the standard equipment was the reason. The wobble board slid under him on every rep, and the force it sent up his leg reached his lower back.

David Sr. is a mechanical engineer. He looked at the board and saw that the pivot was in the wrong place.

What people ask before they reserve.

How is this different from a wobble board?

A wobble board pivots on the floor, so the platform slides sideways before it tilts. PIVOT holds the axis at the top surface, where your foot is. The board rotates in place and the feedback arrives the moment you load it.

Is the compressor loud?

It is comparable to a portable tire inflator and it runs for a few seconds when you change levels. It is silent while you train.

Do I need my phone to use it?

No. There is a physical control on the unit for setting firmness. The app adds session tracking and your stability score.

When will it ship?

We are not giving a date yet. The integrated unit is still in build. We will not ask you for the balance until we can show you a finished unit and a real window, and you can cancel for a full refund at any point before then.
